Technical & Safety Info, How They Work
A car traveling at a speed of 80 km/h moves 22 meters per second. The average reaction time is one second. The physical response takes another second. In this time the car has already traveled 44 meters. On average, a pedestrian without a reflector can be seen at a distance of 30 meters with dipped lights. This leaves the driver with only 1.3 seconds of time to react and respond. With a Talmu Pedestrian Reflector you have a driver’s attention from over 150 meters. This means that the driver has almost seven seconds to react and pass the pedestrian safely. That is a big difference!
How a retro-reflector works:
Small and light (with no need for batteries), they work by retro reflection. Bouncing back the light from a headlight of a vechicle to the driver, you become visible from further away and the driver has more time to react to you and take action!
By attaching a reflector to your outside clothing, bag or backpack, you are eight times safer than without! They are functional, fun, and colourful, and many of them are designed to appeal to children.
Only CE-Certified reflectors can qualify as being safety items.
